This can be as:
- A long term agreement
- Day support
A stepping stone for someone to live independently.
What is ‘Shared Lives’ ?
Shared Lives supports a variety of different arrangements where families and individuals in local communities can offer accommodation and/or support for up to three adults.
Shared Lives carers are recruited and approved by Positive Steps Shropshire Limited, which is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Who are Shared Lives carers ?
Shared Lives carers are people from all walks of life, and can be single people, couples or parents with children. They use their own home as a resource. Everyone who becomes a Shared Lives carer has to undergo an assessment by a Positive Steps Shropshire Limited worker, which is then presented to an independent approval panel as part of the approval process.
A DBS check, references and relevant training are taken up before any arrangement can take place.
